I. What is communication?

  • Process of sending and receiving information

  • A gift of God.

  • A tool for relationship

 

II. Who is the best communicator?

  • God. (Matthew 11:5, Romans 4:17)

 

III. There is a call to listen. Two ears, one mouth. (James 1:19)

  • Wise people listen (Proverbs 12:15, 17:28, 1:5)

  • Use your eyes and your ears to receive.

 

IV. Speak the truth in love. (Ephesians 4:15-16, 25-32)

  • You must know the truth to speak it. (John 14:6)

  • Speak truth to yourself and others

  • The Holy spirit guides you into truth. (John 16:13)

 

V. There are communication blockers.

  1. Assumptions – assuming you are right without listening. (Proverbs 18:13, 16:2)

  2. Blame – (Galatians 6:4-5)

  3. Triangulation

  • Speak truth directly to the person involved. (Zachariah 8:16-17, Matthew 18:15)

                       

VI. Jesus is the key to effective communication. (Jeremiah 1:9-10)

 

COMMUNICATION IS THE TOOL TO ACHIEVE THE PURPOSE OF GOD FOR OUR LIVES.
