LIGHTHOUSE
CHURCH
OUR STORY
In the early 1990’s, Pastor Steven Schultz together with his wife Mary lived in Kenya, Africa as missionaries and pastors of a new church plant in that nation. In 1994 the Schultz family received a call from God to move back to Madison, Wisconsin where the vision was birthed for Lighthouse Church as an outreach to the foreigners in the city of Madison. In obedience to the Lord’s calling, Pastor Steve started reaching out to the international community and as a result, people from many different countries of the world, especially Latin America, started to fill the pews of the church. Because of the increase in number of Latino members, Pastor Steven decided to add two pulpits and conduct the services bilingually to allow the congregation to grow together.
In 1997, Pastor Steven asked Marcio Sierra Jr. to become one of the translators at Lighthouse Church. In 1999, Marcio and his wife Tia became the youth leaders and by 2002, they were ordained as Associate Pastors, beginning their training under Pastors Steven and Mary.
For the next 10 years, Lighthouse church continued to grow and its international flavor remained. The pastors continued to reach out to the international community in Madison and the church supported different missions and missionaries around the world.
In 2011, Pastors Steven and Mary Schultz were called by God to plant a new work for God in St. Joseph, Michigan. They ordained Marcio and Tia Sierra, their spiritual children, as Senior Pastors of Lighthouse Church and the transition became official in June of 2012.
In March of 2018, Lighthouse Church officially moved to their new building located at 6402 Schroeder Rd. in Madison, WI.
Today, Lighthouse Church continues to be an international Church with bilingual services in both English and Spanish. We have also become part of the Apostolic Network of Global Awakening under the ministry of Randy Clark and the apostolic ministry of Bill Johnson.
The presence of God is being manifested in exciting new ways through the power of the Holy Spirit, signs and wonders are evident, and the church continues to grow. We continue to support and expand in the mission field as well as provide many opportunities for church members to become involved in serving the local community.
Join us and become part of what God is doing here at Lighthouse Church.
