OCTOBER
Pastor Appreciation
MONTH
October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Each year, congregations set this time aside to thank the pastors who lead, teach, counsel, and pray for their communities. The work pastors do often happens out of sight: hospital visits, late-night calls, sermon preparation, and carrying the needs of many families. This month is a chance to say thank you.
Thank You for Walking With Us
We see you. We appreciate you. We pray for you.
There are people God places in our path to walk with us, encourage us, and help us keep moving forward in faith. For many of us, our pastors have been part of those
moments. They have prayed with us. They have taught us God’s Word. They have celebrated our joys. They have walked beside us through difficult seasons. And again
and again, they have helped turn our eyes back to Jesus.
But we also know there is so much we do not see: the prayers whispered in silence, the hours of preparation, the difficult decisions, the conversations that require wisdom, and the weight they carry while continuing to pour into others.
For that reason, this month we want to pause and say something simple, but sincere:
Thank you.
Thank you for serving with love.
Thank you for staying faithful to God’s calling.
Thank you for caring for our church family.
Thank you for walking with us through life.
And thank you for reminding us, through your words and your example, that Jesus is always at the center.
“Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with
knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
Pastor Appreciation Month is more than a date on the calendar. It is an opportunity to remind our pastors that their work matters, their prayer makes a difference, and their faithfulness does not go unnoticed.
Maybe there was a message that met you at exactly the right moment, a prayer that sustained you, a conversation that gave you hope, or simply a moment when you knew you were not walking alone. Tell them. Those who spend so much time encouraging others also need encouragement.
“Encourage one another and build each other up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

This Month, Take One Simple Step
1. Pray for them.
2. Write a note.
3. Share a story.
4. Tell them how God has used their ministry in your life.
5. Encourage their families too.
Say it. Show it. Pray it.
Let our gratitude be more than something we think.
Let it be something our pastors can truly feel.
To Our Pastors,
Thank you for praying for us.
Thank you for serving with love.
Thank you for walking with us.
Thank you for continuing to point us to Jesus.
We see you. We appreciate you. We pray for you.
And we thank God for placing you in our lives.
